Growing Hope Harvest
Saturday, September 18 at 11:30am
The Growing Hope Harvest is one of the biggest fundraisers for Love INC of Boone County. Join them this Saturday, September 18 for the harvest. The short program begins at 11:30, free lunch will be served at 12pm, and the harvest will follow. The field is located on the northeast corner of 1100 West and 900 North.
Growing Hope is a collaboration of farmers, businesses, and the Boone County Farm Bureau that plants a field of soybeans each year. They beans are harvested at a celebration in the fall, and the proceeds from the sale of the crop are donated to Love INC. In the program’s 6-year history, the project has raised approximately $225,000 to support Love INC. The farmers donating the use of the field this year are active members of LCC.
If you’ve never seen a field harvested in minutes by a fleet of combines and local farmers, now is your chance! It’s an amazing sight.

Habitat Women Build
Attention ladies (age 16 and over): Would you like to help a single mom with three teenage kids have a home to call their own? You can do that by participating in our local Habitat for Humanity Women Build, a home built by women labor and funded by women. A team of women from LCC have been doing this for several years and there are spots available for this year's team. Each team on the Women Build is made up of 10 women who work 1 day on the home. Each team is also charged with raising $2500.00 which helps pay for the building materials for the home. Thanks to a generous donation from LCC Missions, each team member will only have to raise $125.
The date for our team to work is Saturday, October 9 from approximately 8:30am-3:30pm. The home site is in Lebanon.
Habitat for Humanity Boone County is a great way to show Christ's love in our community! No previous construction experience or skill is required! The Habitat foreman and regular volunteers will teach you everything you need to know.
If you are interested in finding out more information, please call or text Vanessa Fisher (765-891-0848) or Cindy Schrier (317-847-1736) as soon as possible.
Dress-A-Girl Donations & Sewing Day
We are again collecting donated fabric and thread to make new girls’ dresses for our mission partners. Please bring donations of 100% cotton or cotton blend fabric and cotton sewing thread to the collection site in the Hub through October 1. Walmart and Hobby Lobby have great selections of fabrics that are perfect. Please be sure it’s not see-through. You can also donate gently used men’s cotton button-down shirts (not knit) so they can be made into cute dresses as well.
If you sew or know how to use a pair of scissors or an iron, we can use your help on the Sewing Day – Saturday, October 2, from 8am-12pm. Bring a sewing machine and/or fabric scissors if you have them.
Upcoming Women’s Events
Mark your calendar for a S’mores and a Book Swap in the shelter on Sunday, October 10 from 6-8pm, and a Cookie Swap (inside) on Sunday, December 5 from 2-4pm. All events are free and do not require a sign-up.
