Digital Bulletin 7.24.24

Did you know? The Lebanon Christian Church Battle of the BBQ team is looking for teammates! No experience necessary! The only characteristic needed is the desire to take part in a friendly competition while loving on the Boone County community.

Since 2016, men and women from Lebanon Christian Church have participated in the annual Battle of the BBQ competition. The "battle" benefits the Boone County Cancer Society. In 2023, nearly $100,000 was raised for the organization to support cancer patients throughout Boone County.

Throughout its Battle of the BBQ involvement, the Lebanon Christian Church team has utilized its large meat smoker in this community outreach endeavor. LCC was voted Beef Brisket Champion in 2023! We also won in 2017 for Hot & Spicy Champion, 2019 Grand Champion, 2021 Best Decorated, and 2022 Hot & Spicy Champion. More important than the competition is the comradery with the other teams and attendees.

Global Impact Spotlight CMF (Christian Missionary Fellowship), one of LCC's longtime partners, is celebrating its 75th year anniversary! Sending Missionaries all over the globe fulfilling the Great Commission of Matthew Chapter 28.

Highlights in CMF's 2023 impact report that LCC has contributed directly to, or by another partner we support:

The Ivory Coast Clinic:  2,987 Adults received HIV care.  The land was purchased by LLC when supporting the Gable family. Fame, another LCC partner, recently provided funding for a surgery center.

Days for Girls: 400 menstrual care kits were distributed in Turkana, Kenya.  Started by Catlin Pitts, working alongside her husband Eric.  The Pitts family has a long history at LCC.

Community Health Partners:  136,291 patients were seen in the four community health clinics in Kenya. With the help of Fame, CMF provided significant funding for these clinics.

In a partnership with Ides:  56,620 kilos of corn distributed to drought-stricken families in Tanzania. (About 125 Thousand Pounds!)

The number of lives our partners impact is HUGE, and we all get to be a part of that!  Please always pray for those on the mission field, locally and globally.  Find out how you can connect our partners on our website, https://www.lebanonchristian.org/connect/missions to see how you can pray for them, volunteer, and support their ministries in so many other ways.

Blessing Bags Update: The Blessing Bags that you have so generously donated to are ready for distribution.  These bags are for you to keep handy to give to someone in need that you see along the way.

Please pick up one each of the women's and men's bags.  They will be ready for you at the breezeway.
